(Hacienda Heights) The Glendora Tartans traveled south to Hacienda Heights to take on the Los Altos Conquerors. The game was close early on but the Tartans took over the game int the second half and ground out a 34-14 win Friday night.

Glendora took a 10-0 lead on a 31-yard field goal by Caleb Watkins and an one yard plunge by quarterback Matt Fink midway through the second quarter while it took Los Altos a quarter and a half to get on the board. Amir Avery caught an eight yard pass from Lorenzo Silva to cut the lead to six.

The Tartan ground game controlled the rest of the game and the clock and the score board putting up three more touchdowns to push the lead to the final score.

***Watkins hit on two field goals on the evening of 31 and 39-yards.

***Conqueror Amir Avery was held to 30-yards on the ground and 26 through the air but did manage the one score.

***Andrew Montano lead both teams on the ground with 122-yards on 18 carries.

***Los Altos second score came on a one yard run by bruiser Matthew Hayashi.

***Fink was only five of 13 for 34-yards through the air for the Tartans but rushed for 74-yards and two scores on six carries including a 63-yard bolt to paydirt.

***Conqueror quarterback Lorenzo Silva completed 14 of 27 passes for 194-yards and a touchdown but also threw two costly interceptions.

***Glendora’s other two touchdowns came on the legs of Zach Lewallen and Noah Holmes.

***Protecting Silva for the evening were LT David Tomalchoff, LG Oscar Villa, C Eric Castillo, RG Geno Camacho and RT George Steward

***Opening the holes for the Glendora running attack were LT Ben Northup, LG Nathan Castanon, C Tanner Glick, RG David Label and RT Matt McConnell.

***Up next for Glendora is a battle with Charter Oak at Citrus College while Los Altos will go on the road to face the Monrovia Wildcats.
