(Glendale) -Jonathan Jun ran for 183 yards and four touchdowns and Brian Gadsby threw for three scores to lead Crescenta Valley to a 48-21 win over Burroughs Friday night at Moyse Field.

When CV established the lead in the fourth quarter it was Jun who put it away. Jun grinded out the yards and chewed up the clock in the fourth quarter with carry after carry and Burroughs couldn’t stop him.

“That’s the difference with this team. We can pound the ball. We weren’t able to do that in the past,” said CV HC Paul Shilling. “We have always had the skill guys but now we’re able to pound it too.”

While Jun’s scoring runs were of the short variety – 10, 1 3 and 5 yards Gadsby hit on some big plays. He hit Connor Van Ginkel on a 30 yard TD strike in the second quarter and Chase Walker on a 77-yard touchdown pass in the third to put the Falcons up 28-14.

Crescenta Valley led 21-7 late in the second quarter and it appeared the Falcons would carry that lead into the break but Burroughs struck with 14 seconds left. Indian QB Andy Amelo found a streaking Erik Hernandez for a 53 yard scoring strike to cut it to 21-14 at the half.
