(Chino Hills)— Glendora quarterback Matt Fink rushed for 165-yards and scored three touchdowns in the Tartans 27-7 win over Ayala Friday night at Ayala High School.

It didn’t take long for Glendora to find the end zone in the first half. Fink scored his first touchdown mid-way through the first quarter when he slipped his way to paydirt  from 69-yards out. However, they failed to convert the point after.

Following Fink’s second touchdown, a one yard sneak in the second quarter, Ayala’s best first half scoring opportunity came when Brian Papazian missed a 35-yard kick with 4:45 left to play.

The Bulldogs got a second chance to score after Fink fumbled a snap in the third quarter but Papazian hooked the 23-yard field to the left.

On the ensuing possession Glendora running back Noah Holmes ended the debate when he added six more from 48-yards out making it 20-0.

Ayala finally scored with 8:37 in the fourth when back up quarterback Isaiah Flowers connected with Jimmy Valle from 44-yards out.

Fink added his third touchdown two minutes later making the score 27-7.

***“Fink is a big part of our offense, so is our offensive line, our running backs,” said Tartan head coach Jerry Lewallen, “It’s a collective group and we need everybody to keep raising their game up.”
