“Hate stumbles forward and leans in the door.
Weary head hung, eyes to the floor.
He says “Love, I’m sorry”, and she says, “What for?
I’m yours and that’s it, Whatever.
I should not have been gone for so long.
I’m your’s and that’s it, forever…You’re mine and that’s it, forever.”
                                —The Avett Brothers

Kick it!

Right off the top: Every year I try, I really try to watch the Lakers play and every year I begin to suffer acid reflux before halftime. It’s not that I’m anti-Laker, I’m just anti-NBA. It’s a bad product Commissioner Silver, LOUSY BALL Mr. Silver!

Something about the World Series this year has been lacking…Oh, yeah, I know what it is…It’s the Dodgers. With that said nothing would be worse for the national outlook than to have the Giants win another title. Can’t we quarantine them for 21 days?

Something tells me that El Rancho needs to be very careful with Cal this Thursday night. You have to go with the Dons based on the body of work this season, but the Condors are more than capable of an upset.

There has been a lot of Ranch chatter on our boards…so you hope the focus is not on post-season but finishing the regular season.

I couldn’t pry stats stats out of Paraclete HC Norm Dahlia, but I did get a quote about left tackle Drew Jorgensen, who won our “Player of the Week” poll.

“Drew broke his hand as a sophomore and was fill in lineman last year waiting patiently for his opportunity to be a starter,” said Dahlia. “I always felt Drew could be something special on the field since he also plays ice hockey and is an avid ” Minnesota Wild” fan. Hockey takes a very special athlete that is aggressive and agile. Teaching him how to play in cleats and not skates has been a lot of fun and he is an absolute dream to coach. Drew also carries a 4.39 GPA- He is a very busy young man on the field and in the classroom.”

No One Notices I Think I’ll Dye My Hair Blue Department: Verbum Dei’s Davir Hamilton, just a junior, has scored eight touchdowns rushing, five receiving, and another on defense for 14 total on the season. Hamilton has accounted for 1,069 all purpose yards, made 46 tackles, registered 13 sacks, and picked off a pass. At 6-4, 200 pounds he has already received offers from Oregon State, Utah, and San Diego State.

On this date ten years ago Rosemead scored 20 unanswered second half points to defeat South El Monte 34-26 at home. The Panthers Deon Sumler rushed for 157 yards and scored on a 16-yard run as well as a 40-yard interception return. The Eagles got two touchdowns on the ground from quarterback Lee Aguirre and a 74-yard touchdown pass to the ultra fast Gus Mendoza.

Last Add South El Monte: Does anybody remember the string of receivers that came out of South in the middle of the last decade? Gus Mendoza, Tommy Cogburn, and Manny Acosta (17 Td catches in 2008)

If you are a Maranatha fan (and this goes for Nipomo and Pasadena Poly) know that Cantwell is out there. By Northwest standards the Cardinals offensive line is huge, they experience at quarterback and running back, plus playmakers at the edges. You read it here first Cantwell is capable of winning the whole schbangy.

Last Add Lakers: Kobe! Walk away…Go enjoy life.

Regards:

In regards to Colt McCoy: Is it just me or doesn’t he look taller?

In regards to the Lakers: “With the weapons the Lakers got they probably couldn’t beat Guam in a war.” -Charles Barkley

In regards to Bellflower: They should be the wild card in the Southeast.

In regards to former Arcadia receiver/quarterback Kevan Walker: He turns 25 today. In 2007 Walker moved to quarterback for the Apaches and led them to an 8-3 record. In the process he threw 12 touchdown passes and rushed for five more.

In regards to Keppel-San Gabriel: If the Aztecs, currently riding a 74 game league losing streak, don’t get their first Almont League win since 1999 Friday night…They never will.

The Dude abides…
