(Redlands)- The Templeton Eagles scored first and window dressed late but it was all Arrowhead Christian when it mattered and The AC advanced to its first CIF championship appearance since 2001 with a 40-30 victory.
Bradley Mowbray did his thing. The Arrowhead quarterback rushed for two touchdowns, passed for another, and intercepted a pass to lead his team. The touchdown pass was his 31st, the rushing touchdowns pushed his 2014 totals to 11, and the pick was his fifth.
Sharing top bill with him was senior running back Matt Kesuma. After ten weeks Kesuma was having a decent senior season, but with the start of the November Kesuma has exploded.
Scoring twice last night, on runs of 73 and 86-yards, Kesuma has now scored seven touchdowns in the last three weeks and rushed for over 100 yards in each of his team’s playoff games.
John Beck’s squad, just 1-19 combined in 2011 and 2012, wait for the winner of Saturday’s semifinal between Pasadena Poly and Nipomo. No matter the outcome AC will be on the road for the Northwest championship.
