The NFL

Inside: M-Town’s Ellis McCarthy projection in Draft?

Question: With the passing of NFL Films founder Ed Sabol, 98, this came to mind. Have you ever seen anything done by NFL Films that you didn’t like? In football, if I couldn’t be Aaron Rodgers, I wish I could be Ed Sabol. He’s a great story.

Take a Pass
I like Detroit Lions free agent Ndamukong Suh, but I don’t think I would break my bank (salary cap) to sign him. Besides all the “stuff” that comes with Suh, he’s only missed two games in five seasons. Isn’t it a risk to give him too much dough…at least too much dough guaranteed.

If you get Vince Wilfork performance out of Suh, awesome. If you get a rerun of Albert Haynesworth? One more coach and one more general manager unemployed and ready to be recycled.

You Want a Quarterback?
Available Free Agent QBs: Mark Sanchez, Brian Hoyer, Jake Locker, Ryan Mallett, Michael Vick, Christian Ponder, Colt McCoy, Matt Moore, Tarvaris Jackson, and Shaun Hill. Also Jason Campbell, Matt Flynn, Jimmy Clausen, Blaine Gabbert, Matt Hasselbeck, Ryan Lindley, and T.J. Yates.
(Notes: I’ve liven Shaun Hill…if your this desperate, I suggest troll Arena Football rosters.)

Or Do You Want a Receiver?
Available Free Agent WRs: Dez Bryant, Randall Cobb, Demaryius Thomas, Michael Crabtree, and Torrey Smith.
(Notes: Cannot see the Cowboys letting Bryant walk, Crabtree might cost too much money for a guy who gets hurt…As owner, I’d take out second mortgage to sign Cobb.)
