1.  Number seven Wichita State knocked off  #2 Kansas 73-65 to reach the sweet 16 of the NCAA Division 1 Basketball Championships.

2. The NFL held the inaugural Verteran Combine Sunday in Tempe, Arizona. Scouts from all 32 NFL teams were in attendance.

3.  The Mark Keppel Lady Aztecs will play Archbishop Mitty in the CIF State Division II Finals on March 28 at Haas Pavillion on the campus of UC Berkeley.

4.  Moses Malone (61), Jason Kidd (42) and Maurice Jones-Drew (30) all share birthdays today.

5.  North Carolina beat Kansas 54-53 in triple overtime to win the NCAA Basketball Championship on this day in 1957.

6.  The La Mirada Matadors will also face Archbishop Mitty on the boys side of the CIF State Divsion II Finals March 28 at Haas Pavillion, UC Berkeley.

7.   The Dodgers shut down Hyun-Jin Ryu’s throwing program and sent him to Los Angeles to be examined by the team doctor Neal El Attrache.

8.  On this day in 1984, Wayne Gretzky sets an NHL record with 802 goals scored.

9.  Sierra Canyon will face University High School in the CIF State Division V Finals March 27 at Haas Pavillion, UC Berkeley.
