1.  Due to an injury to Matt Holliday, the Dodger’s Joc Pederson will start in the outfield in Tuesday night’s MLB All Star game. It’s the first time a Dodger rookie position player has started in an All Star game.

2.  The Angels beat the Mariners 10-3 Sunday and climb into first place the AL West a half game up on the Astros.

3.  Seth Curry, younger brother of Golden State’s Steph Curry is averaging 27.5 points after two games in the NBA’s Las Vegas Summer League.

4.  Anthony “Spud” Webb turns 52 today.

5.  Serena Williams wins the Wimbledon Women’s Championship for her fourth straight Grand Slam victory. She now has 21 career Grand Slam titles.

8.  On this day in 1972 Robert Irsay bought the Los Angeles Rams and transferred the ownership to Carroll Rosenbloom in exchange for ownership of the Baltimore Colts.

9.  Dez Bryant has informed the Cowboys he will sit out all of training camp and regular season games unless the two sides reach a long term deal by Wednesday.
