(Downey) The Downey Vikings played host to the Alemany Warriors and were quite generous to the visiting squad allowing 35 points in the first half and falling to a final score of 42-6.
The Viking offense had trouble moving the ball offensively and on the other side the defense had trouble corralling and stopping Warrior quarterback Brevin White.

The seats were barely warm when Alemany got on the board when white hooked up with Cayden Dunn on a 90 yard catch and run.

Less than two minutes later Alemany scored again when Maka Taufahema picked off a Trevor Hill pass and went 32 yards for a score.

The lone highlight for the Downey on the night came when Daevon Vigilant score on three yard run. The score was set up on a bad snap that set the Vikings up at first and ten at the Warrior 15.

Alemany scored five times in total in the first have to go into the locker room leading 35-6.

***White did it all for Alemany leading in rushing with 73 yards and two touchdowns and threw for 221 yards and another score.

*** Vigilant had 43 total yards on 14 carries.

*** Jarrin Pierce caught seven balls for 98 yards for the Warriors.

*** It was a long night for Downey’s Hill connecting on only six passes for 51 yards and threw three interceptions.

*** Alemany’s defense held the Vikings to a total of 121 yards of total offense.

*** Downey had a total of 14 offensive possessions but could only manage one scoring drive.

*** Albert Padilla led the Viking receivers with 36 yards on 4 receptions.

*** White’s eight yard run for a score with a little over nine minutes left to play put the Warriors up 42-6 and from there it was a running clock the rest of the night.

*** The Vikings now been outscored 82-33 on the season.

*** Things don’t get any easier for Downey as Long Beach Millikan comes to town.
