(Diamond Bar)- In a battle of two undefeated teams, Diamond Bar rallied at home to beat San Dimas 18-7 Friday night.
The Saints were the first to score behind Jarell Sykes two-yard run to go ahead 7-0 with 0:59 left in the first quarter. With Diamond Bar’s offense not doing much in the first San Dimas seem poised to gain control of the game. But on their next possession the Saints turned the ball over off a botched exchange. The Brahmas took full advantage on their next play from scrimmage when Grant Mestas connected on a 45 yard strike to Kyle Yada to cut the lead 7-6 after a failed PAT.
The threat of the passing game kept the Saints defense a little off balance which helped the Brahmas to open up their running game. The Brahmas added to their lead when Anthony Montano scored on a two yard run to make it 12-7 at the half after a failed two point conversion. The Brahmas iced the game behind a pair of field goals in the second half to win by a final of 18-7.
