AMBASSADOR
Linfield Christian (2-0, 7-0) vs Notre Dame/Riverside (2-0, 7-0) at Riverside CC
Flip a coin. Seriously, that’s about all you can do in this one. CalPreps takes NDR by a point, 27-26. I’d go with that if it didn’t make me look lazy. The Titans might find some wiggle room if they can contain the Lions and force them to manufacture long drives instead of hitting home runs. I flipped my coin…Here you go…
Notre Dame/Riverside: 30-21

PREP
Rio Hondo Prep (3-3) vs Firebaugh (2-5) at Lynwood
When league play consists of only four games everyone one of them is critical. That’s all I wanted to say, this game is a blowout. Domenico Chico makes it happen for the Kares.
Rio Hondo Prep: 52-0

Friday, October 23

DE ANZA
Twentynine Palms (3-0, 7-0) at Desert Hot Springs (2-1, 5-2)
The Golden Eagles are good, serviceable at least, but the 29ers are the best in the De Anza.
29ers: 38-13

NORTHERN
Mission Prep (1-0, 5-2) at Nipomo (2-0, 4-4)
Late October is when the Titans annual non-league death march pays its biggest dividends. They’re ready for a solid Royals team and should defend their Northern League title after a bit of a grind.
Nipomo: 21-7

SOUTH CATHOLIC
St. Bernard (2-5) at Bishop Montgomery (6-1)
This game evolves into a “Thank you Sir, may I have another?” contest on the first drive of the game. Game matters because in the first week of league play the Knights wrap up the South Catholic title.
Bishop Montgomery: 58-8

AMBASSADOR
Arrowhead Christian (0-2, 2-5) at Ontario Christian (1-1, 5-2)
Sometimes there aren’t enough Mowbrays to go around and that’s the story of the AC season. The Knights are living Week Ten and Linfield Christian. Note: Last season’s 53-48 victory snapped Arrowhead’s 12-game losing streak to OC.
Ontario Christian: 42-14

Saturday, October 24

OLYMPIC
Valley Christian (2-0, 6-2) vs Heritage Christian (0-1, 3-4) at Granada Hills
If I had a nickel for every time I’ve been told to keep an eye on Heritage, been told this is its breakout year, been told “they are gonna be tough this year”…I’d be able to afford government provided healthcare. Well I’m all out of nickels and this game should be a route. The Crusaders are the class of the Olympic.
Valley Christian: 40-13

PREP
Pasadena Poly (4-3) vs Flintridge Prep (2-5) at La Canada
The Panthers have to find a way to get better. They are going to win the Prep League, but looking fodder for a third place team from a tougher league (like Heritage Christian). Been waiting a few years for Flintridge to break through, still hasn’t happened. There is talent on the Rebel roster, maybe next year?
Pasadena Poly: 49-7
