Northwest Division Game Night: Week Nine

By Joe Torosian

(All game times 7:00 P.M. unless otherwise indicated.)

Friday, October 30

DE ANZA
Rancho Mirage (4-1, 7-2) at Shadow Hills (3-1, 4-4)
The Knights have won four of their last five and running back Tony Williams Jr. has heated up at the right time. Upset is possible, but the Rattlers are deep. RM strikes early, SH can’t catch up.
Rancho Mirage: 26-13

NORTHERN
Nipomo (2-1, 4-5) at Templeton (1-1, 5-3)
Last Halloween the Eagles used bad weather to upset the eventual champions. They’re going to win this week in a mild upset because they are better offensively.
Templeton: 20-10

AMBASSADOR
Ontario Christian (2-1, 6-2) at Aquinas (2-1, 5-3)
We watch this one closely because the Falcons can shorten the game with the bruising Courtland Boucher. They also have a small roster with a big offensive line. Trouble for the OC. Winner goes to the playoffs, loser looks forward to the next GOP debate on November 10th.
Aquinas: 18-14

OLYMPIC
Heritage Christian (0-2, 3-5) vs. Village Christian (1-1, 5-3) at Occidental College
The Warriors could derail the Crusaders playoff bid. Could, but won’t.
Village Christian: 31-7

Maranatha (2-0, 5-3) at Valley Christian (3-0, 7-2)
If the Minutemen pull this off on the road it will be biggest win for Steve Bogan since arriving at St. John Avenue. Young team, on the road, against a Crusaders brigade looking for a league title.
Valley Christian: 30-14

PREP
Flintridge Prep (0-1, 2-6) at Rio Hondo Prep (1-0, 4-3)
This game bears mentioning because the Kares can be here today and gone tomorrow. However, we do believe they Kare enough to blast the Rebels and secure second place in the Prep.
Rio Hondo Prep: 45-7
