Are they really going to make this guy the manager of the Dodgers?

Are they really going to make this guy the manager of the Dodgers?

By Joe Torosian

Kick it!

Right off the Top: Go Mets! I know this will make those who dislike my choice of team happy, but I have to say the Kansas City Royals are the better team.

Far be it from me to say somebody might have a problem, but I listened to Colin Cowherd for the first time since he moved to Fox. He was talking with Kristine Leahy this morning about the Memphis Grizzlies fan that hit a half court shot to win free tater tots for life.

Leahy, then asked Cowherd if there was one food he’d want free for life.

“Vodka,” Cowherd answered.

Note to Monrovia fans: Don’t worry, the Wildcats are going to take care of South Pasadena.

Did Michael Wilbon, on ‘Pardon The Interruption,’ really imply today that Dusty Baker didn’t get an interview with the Nationals, Padres, and Marlins, because he’s black? Because he’s black he couldn’t be considered like one of the other retread managers?

Baker, one of my favorite all time Dodgers, spent twenty seasons as the manager of the Giants, Cubs, and Reds. I believe he’s been vetted and retreaded.

If an eyebrow needs to be raised shouldn’t it be with the Dodgers and the consideration being given to Gabe Kapler as their new skipper? I mean, Gabe Kapler? Has that sweathog had a job since ‘Welcome Back Kotter’ went off the air?

I’d like to say thank you, in advance, to the Montebello and Bell Gardens’ fans who will blow up our website, and drive our analytics through roof this weekend.

Note to Readers: It doesn’t make any difference who wins this game. Any high stakes Almont match this time of year converts into fissionable material on the message boards.

I know how this is going to be taken, but I have to say it any way. Two things got me back into baseball after almost a decade away. Fantasy and ‘Quick Pitch’ on the MLB Network.

I checked out NBA TV’s equivalent to ‘Quick Pitch’ early this morning…Talk about a yawning festival. The NBA stinks enough on its own, but watching the highlight show was like being mainlined with tryptophan.

Yes, Heidi Watney is much easier on the eyes than the stiffs on NBA TV, but Watney’s got talent. She’s interesting, you can understand her, and she looks like she’s having fun.

I’ll keep trying, but it’s going to be a long while before I get back to the NBA.

Last Add Colin Cowherd: Who’s got a bigger man crush? Joe Biden for Barrack Obama, or Colin Cowherd for LeBron James?

Did you people really think Glen was dead? Come on!

Survivor Fans: Don’t you think Andrew Savage should have gone home instead of Woo?

Midbits: Is Minnesota Vikings receiver Stefan Diggs any relation to former USC receiver Shelton Diggs?

Midbits: The MVS has placed Andy Villanueva on the 21-day disabled list after undergoing knee surgery on Monday.

Midbits: Former Arcadia quarterback Kevan Walker turns 26 today. Also celebrating a birthday this Thursday is Arroyo, HC Jim “His Arroyo Baldness” Singiser. There’s no information available on his age.

Midbits: Not saying it will, not saying they can, but what happens if the Miami Marlins make the playoffs next year with Don Mattingly as their manager?

Midbits: Hunter Duran? Yeah, that dude’s alright.

The Dude abides…
