Bearcats Close out Ayala

(La Verne)  In the last game of the regular season Bonita closed it out in fashion with a 37-7 dismantling  of Ayala. The Bearcats had a 7-0 lead after the first  quarter behind a pick six.  This momentum carried into the second quarter, where the Bearcats scored 14 unanswered to go into the half up 21-0.

The second half was more of the same as the Bearcats went up 37-0 midway through the fourth quarter. At that point the running clock came in effect. Ayala scored a moral victory by putting a score on  the board with less than two minutes left in the game. Bonita will find out who the next opponent is in the first round this Sunday

*** Bonita’s Tanner East was 10/16 for 55 yards, 2 TD.

*** The Bearcats’ Romeo Gutierrez rushed for 55 yards on 14 carries

** Ayala’s Jordan Charles carried the ball 19 times for 103 yards.

*** Quarterback Isaiah Flores was 5/10 47 yards, rushed for 4 yards on 5 carries with 1 rushing TD.
