Panthers Pounce Conquerors

(Pomona) — The Diamond Ranch Panthers scored 17 unanswered points to over come a nine point deficit to beat Los Altos 24-18 Friday night Diamond Ranch High school.

Wide out Kalean Williams caught five passes for 73-yards and scored two touchdowns in the Panthers win.
Diamond Ranch fell behind quick to the Conquerors early in the first quarter after Davion Gaisie  fumbled in the end zone. Then Los Altos added a Tyler Nevens rushing score to put his team up 9-0 with 4:27 left in the quarter.
Right before the the quarter ended, Panther’s Billy Flores converted the 14-yard field goal to come with in six points.
Following a botched punt from Los Altos, the Panthers only had to travel 27-yards to score the teams first touchdown. Quarterback Ethan Cota optioned to keep the ball and scored on the four run.
After intermission, the Panther offense continued to add points when Cota connected with Williams from 14-yards out. The Conquerors responded with 29-yard field goal made by Hunter White. Los Altos went into the fourth down 17-12.
The Panther offense continued to score through the air when Cota connected with Williams for a 28-yard slip screen pass. However, on the ensuing kick off Tyler Nevens returns the kick 99-yards making the score 24-18 with 8:30 left in regulation.
Both teams traded punts until Los Altos finally drive which ended in four straight incompletions.
 “Our defense played phenomenal,” said Panther coach Jimmy Welker. “Nevens is a heck of a back and probably the best in our league and our guys took to the challenge responded well.”
Kalean Williams: Five catches 73-yards and 2 TD
“Coming into this game we knew it was win were in,” said Williams after the game. “We just wanted it more.”
Davion Gaisie: 16 carries 188 yards
“This is our first step to our goal,” said Gaisie. “Our motto tonight was man to the left man to the right, everybody or nobody. Either we are all in or we are all out.
Ethan Cota: 8-16 115 yards 2 TD
