1. Alabama beat previously unbeaten and #2 ranked LSU 30-16 Saturday.

2. In his second game back after a knee injury, Ben Roethlisberger sprained his foot and will miss a few more weeks for the Steelers.

3. Andre Drummond is averaging 20.3 rebounds per game for the 5-1 Detroit Pistons.

4. Happy Birthday to former Burroughs stand-out and current Old Dominion linebacker Kohl Adams-Hurd who turns 23 today.

5. The Mets have made a $15.8 million qualifying offer to free agent Daniel Murphy.

6. Rosemead and Northview collide Friday night in the first round of the CIF Mid Valley Division playoffs. The two teams opened the season against each other with Northview coming out on top 37-24.

7. In nine games Kurt Scoby has rushed for 1,080 yards and 11 touchdowns for APU.

8. On this day in 1984 Larry Holmes TKO’s Jame’s “Bonecrusher” Smith in the 12th round to retain his heavyweight title.
