Southeast Division Head Coach of the Year: La Mirada’s Mike Moschetti

La Mirada won a State Championship. Do we need to say more? Probably not, but we will.

The Matadores didn’t just win, they dominated on their way to the Suburban League title, the Southeast Crown and finally the State Championship. After a September 18th loss to San Clemente, La Mirada ripped off 12 victories in a row. In those 12 games the closest any team got was 22 points and that was Oceanside in the first round of State. The Mats only allowed 14 points in five league games and pitched three shutouts.

They scored at least 63 points in one three game league stretch and scored 76 in another. These weren’t contests they were obliterations. There were times in the last few years that Moschetti was criticized for early round playoff exits. This year nobody came close to the Matadores in the league or the post season.

The Mats had the talent and this year Moschetti brought it all together. He took the heat once but now he deserves the accolades. For 2015 Mike Moschetti is our Southeast Division Head Coach of the Year.

CAN’T you READ, i am not” local football guy”. I never accused YOU of being a LS fan. Just a disgruntled parent or a Sante Fe loser. I kinda like you better being stupid and angry. Stay grumpy my friend.

Poor Pete Dames.. How come you never mention the La Mirada Basketball program and all the transfers on that team. What would you like the staff at La Mirada do? When a kid wants to transfer in, say um you don’t live here so you can’t play here. So hilarious

LMG: Can’t you read? I stated clearly that I don’t respect programs that live by recruiting and transfers. That is why I post my opinion. First you charged me in your first guise as being a LS fan and now a SF fan or a angry parent whose kid got zero playing time. I’am none of these types. No ax to grind except for the integrity of high school football. Accuse all you wish but the truth is no one outside of the La Mirada bait trap respects what you guys do over there. Even when you are bounced first round I still don’t like your style. Notice the lack of LM supporters in this thread except you and your avatar.

    WTF,
Oh sure, you happened to be a the SJB and overheard LM parents that were happy to see us getting shellacked so their kids can play. Every football program has THAT dad or mom who kid’s don’t play or start and are disgruntled and bitter, which you sound like. But you see and hear everything about LM. Sure , sure…
I was at the game, SJB stands where about half full on our side, not so much on visitors. At the La Serna game the stands was completely full, Both sides. But one question, if you hate us so much, why come at all ?
Are you a disgruntled LM parent ? Your initials tell all WTF…. or Could you be some mysterious coach from Sante fe maybe ?

Very weak response. I have no MO only to call it like I see it. I really doubt you know more than I do about LM football. I do my homework. Stop recruiting so much and the school will get more respect from the blogs and maybe even the local fans.

    @Where’s the Fans:

I know a lot more than you do. Your MO all these years is to make up stuff. Everyone in La Mirada knows what your game is. You’ve had a good run. Quit while you are ahead before you ruin your legacy.

You are very wrong about me caring about anything La Serna. I find them almost as repulsive as I find LM. Just commenting on the high school scene as I see it and don’t like the transfers. I happen to know how many starters LM had from out of it’s attendance zone. Do you? I’m calling you out LFG. What is there to support about LM football that is any fun. It was funny at the SJB game a few LM local parents were kinda glad they were losing 70-o or so, so that the local kids might see some playing time.

The Moniker LOCAL football fan as it relates to La Mirada couldn’t be more misleading. Moshetti gathers his squad from all corners, including but not limited to the far side of the moon.

Where’s the Fans: Yeah, I’m calling you out. You are full of it. You and MIA are still smarting from that smackdown your Lancers got. Oh yeah, MIA….where does it say that you HAVE to be at a game and in the stands one hour before the game. LM filled their side as well.

Glad to have so many LS fans there to see their team get smacked.

Proof of this poor showing from LM came in the title game vs. La Serna. The visitors side was shoulder-to-shoulder ONE HOUR before kickoff, but the LM side was only 1/4 filled. It would have been best to give LM the visitor’s side and LS the home side…then everyone could be seated comfortably. Yep, there’s no passion in watching mercenaries auditioning for college offers.

Yeah, I went to the big time advertised St. John Bosco game and the band out numbered the fans. Packed? Yeah with empty seats. Call me a liar will you? Folks check and see for yourself. The game is on You Tube!!

And what constitutes a lack of passion by the fans? Obviously you did not attend any of their games. Let me guess, your kid goes to La Serna?

Have you been to one of La Mirada’s football games. They were packed with loads of fans from La Mirada. The excitement was in the air during the whole season. Fans were cheering and screaming.

Always a little surprised at the lack of any passion from the La Mirada community for it’s team. Could it be nobody gives a hoot because the teams success rises from outside recruits that no one from the city of La Mirada is connected with? High school ball should be about neighborhoods and community instead of carpooling and getting ready made talent from other programs. Tired of all the transfering around is all. I’am far more comfortable with giving him the award for best salesman of the year.

It was a fantastic time to be a Matadore, just like the previous three years.
