5. Former Georgetown Hoya and Miami Heat center Alonzo Mourning turns 46 today.

6. The L.A. Galaxy take on Club Tijuana Tuesday night at the StubHub Center.

7. Zekiah LoVett, 18.7 ppg leads the 22-3, 11-0 Gabrielino Eagles.

8.  On this day in 1945 Paul Brown agrees to coach the new American football expansion team in Cleveland which would later be named the Cleveland Browns.

9. After starting 23-31 in his second season, the New York Knicks fire Derek Fisher.
