(“The TEN” is not a top ten but ten items worth being included in “The TEN”)

1. Quarterback Brock Osweiler leaves Denver and signs a four-year, $72 million contract with the Houston Texans.

2. The New York Jets are set to sign former Chicago running back Matt Forte.

3. The Los Angeles Rams lose cornerback Janoris Jenkins who signs with the New York Giants for five years, $62.5 million.

4. The Miami Dolphins acquire CB Byron Maxwell, LB Kiko Alonso and the number 13 overall pick in the NFL draft from the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for for the number 8 overall pick.

5. USC opened spring football practices with junior Max Browne, redshirt freshman Sam Darnold, sophomore Jalen Greene and the freshman from Glendora Matt Fink, all in the competition for starting quarterback.

6. USC jumps out to an 11-0 lead and goes on to rout UCLA 95-71 to open the PAC 12 Tournament. With the victory USC beat UCLA three times in the same season for the first time since 1954.

7. Nike and other sponsors swiftly distanced themselves from Maria Sharapova after she admits she was a long time user of a recently banned drug.

8. LSU’s Ben Simmons may be the first number 1 overall pick to miss the NCAA Tournament since Michael Olowokandi  in 1998.

9. The Chicago Cubs, picked by many to win the World Series, have opened the spring 1-7.
