Wouldn't it be cool if this said "Mid Valley Draft"?

Good Evening!

T-Minus-249 Days until “The Mid Valley Classic”

Did USC, Mike Garrett, and Lane Kiffin have a Notre Dame moment? Did they actually think because Pete Carroll was gone current UCLA OC Norm Chow was going to come back to Troy?

Arrogance that big belongs in politics…or working at the DMV.

Speaking of the Irish, somebody want to validate Jimmy Clausen’s decision to leave South Bend early for the NFL. He may end up being a great one, but I wouldn’t invest a top ten pick in him. One draft board has him going to the Jacksonville Jaguars or to the Oakland Raiders if Al Davis could ever admit the mistake of JaMarcus Russell. This of course means Clausen won’t be wearing silver and black next season.

Had and an idea.

While the close of the football season is one of the most depressing times of year for me (especially when the NFL pushes the Pro Bowl as viable entertainment), I do love the slow momentum build to the NFL Draft. One of my favorite days of the year, I absolutely love the NFL Draft and all of the predictions and mock drafts that come with it. It’s downright upright! Boom!

But I was thinking what if we held a Mid Valley Draft of local players from the Southeast and Mid-Valley Divisions as if we were drafting for our favorite NFL teams. (The innovative ideas never cease here at The Mid)

Hence being a Rams fan and knowing my team’s needs, I probably wouldn’t draft Adam Muema out of Charter Oak because I already have Stephen Jackson. But I may take a look at Monrovia’s Josh Lowden because I need an outside linebacker to team up with James Laurinaitis in the middle.

As Ray Lewis might say; “You feeling me?”

One more example; my delusional friend Blue State I happen to know is a Cleveland Browns fan. Dude needs a quarterback so does he take Schurr’s Aaron Cantu, rated number one in the Southeast, but only a junior with one full season as a starter or reach for a playmaker like Cal’s Terris Jones and put him on the field with Josh Cribbs?

How about draft experts drawing comparisons between Baltimore’s Ed Reed and CO’s A.J. Powell.

We go three rounds, just like the first day of the NFL Draft used to be. We do it live on-line. You contact me and tell me what team you want to represent (first come first served basis) and then we’ll set up a mock draft time.

It will be interesting to see how everyone thinks, insight…all of that stuff.

You feeling me?

If you’re not we can always talk basketball…

Gee, that Ron Artest he’s a crazy guy huh?

Think about it and let me know…In the meantime…

What I’ve failed to understand about the Gilbert Arenas situation is he wasn’t suspended by the NBA for having a gun in the locker room (or multiple guns and brandishing one of them)…but he was suspended for playing “shootem up” with his fingers with his teammates before a game.

What is more important the reality or the perception?

Stay thirsty my friends…
