1. The U.S Soccer team beats Costa Rica 4-0 to rebound from its opening loss in Copa America.

2. The Kansas City Royals and Baltimore Orioles are involved in a bench clearing brawl after Kansas City pitcher Yordano Ventura hits Manny Machado.

3. The NFL said its Twitter feed was hacked after a tweet was posted that commissioner Roger Goodell had died.

4. The New York Yankees knock off the Angels 6-3. With the loss the Angels fall to 26-32 and 10 games back of Texas in the AL West.

5. “I thought he was trying to hit him the at bat before. So I talked to him before he took his last at bat.” – Oriole manager Buck Showalter on Ventura hitting Machado.

6. “I disagree with Mychal Thompson and his son Klay, my “Showtime” Lakers would beat the Warriors.” – Magic Johnson via Twitter.

7. “If it comes down to Trump or Hillary…I am buying a rubber raft and defecting to Cuba.” Colt74 via Twitter.

8. The NFL is looking into the circumstances surrounding the incident during which the Broncos’ Aqib Talib was shot early Sunday.

9. On this date in 1955 the Dodgers option out pitcher Tommy Lasorda to make room on the roster for left-hander Sandy Koufax.

10. On this date in 1986 Larry Bird scores 29 points, dishes out 12 assists and grabs 11 rebounds to lead the Boston Celtics to a 114-97 win over the Houston Rockets in Game 6 to wrap up the NBA title. Bird is named series MVP.
