1. Dodger manager Dave Roberts is not ruling out surgery for ace Dodger Clayton Kershaw.

2. Dallas Cowboys rookie running back Ezekiel Elliot has sold more NFL jerseys than any other player in the last three months.

3. New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman hits a home run over the Green Monster in batting practice at Fenway Park.

4. “$14 to park in Century City? What’s the world coming to?” – Temple City assistant coach Al Hamichart.

5. Angels right-hander Nick Tropeano has a torn elbow ligament and is out for the year.

6. Tiger Woods pulls out of the PGA Championship marking the first time in his career that he will miss all four major tournaments in a year.

7. Brock Lesnar tested positive for a banned performance enhancing substance on UFC 200 fight night. Lesnar, who defeated heavyweight Mark Hunt by unanimous decision at UFC 200 on July 9, could now face sanctions.

8. USC sophomore cornerback Isaiah Langley has been suspended for the season opener against Alabama. Langley was arrested at a fraternity party at UCLA on May 6 on suspicion of trespassing, intoxication and resisting arrest.

9. On  this date in 1973 Henry Aaron of the Atlanta Braves hit his 700th career home run off of Ken Brett of the Philadelphia Phillies.

10. Happy Birthday to former Los Angeles Rams receiver Henry Ellard who turns 55 today.
