1.) Former San Dimas basketball player Felix Badibanga turns 46.
2.) The Los Angeles Angels finish 2016, 74-88, 21 games out of first place and Mike Trout is named American League, MVP.
3.) Montebello trails 10-0 at half, rallies and beats Covina, 17-10, in overtime on Thursday night in the CIF-SS playoffs. The Oilers are now 11-1 on the season.

6.) On this night in 1985 Washington Redskins quarterback Joe Thiesmann is sacked by Lawrence Taylor of the New York Giants. Theismann’s left foot stuck in the turf, and his leg twisted and snapped effectively ending the quarterback’s career.

9.) On this night in 1995 at Monrovia High School, La Salle made its first ever CIF-playoff appearance and they lost to Paraclete, 35-14. Tonight they get Silverado at home and are favored by two touchdowns.
10.) Free agent outfielder Josh Reddick signs with the Houston Astros. Reddick played in 47 games for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2016. He hit .258 with, 2 home runs and 9 Rbis…The Dodges acquired Reddick from the Oakland A’s for Grant Holmes, Frankie Montas, and Jharel Cotton.
***Note: Holmes, a former number one pick by the Dodgers in 2014 has not advanced past Single A…Montas was acquired in last year’s three-way deal with the Chicago White Sox & Cincinnati Reds that brought Trayce Thompson to the Dodgers…Cotton was a 12th round pick of the Dodgers in 2012 and started five games for the A’s in 2016. He went 2-0, fanned 23, walked 4 in 29.1 innings of work. His WHIP was 0.818 & ERA 2.15…According to Baseball America, Cotton was the Dodgers 9th best prospect heading into last year.
