Joe T., always working hard…

By Joe Torosian

Kick it!

Oh, I’ve always been a Reed Shepphard fan.

Could the Lakers end up swallowing the whole jalapeño in their series with the Houston Rockets? It looks that way.

Think of all the good feelings and warm fuzzies of this late-season run going in the tank…or getting flushed—to use the phrase currently in vogue–if it happens.

Jabbari Smith Jr., Amen Thompson, these guys play with an absence of hiatus.

And Alperen Shengun’s like that football player who shows up to sixth period in April. He’s not even wearing basketball shoes, all elbows, banging into everything…and no one wants to guard him.

If DeShaun Watson tears it up this season for the Cleveland Browns, won’t it be a little awkward handing him a comeback player of the year award?

But if Watson can get anywhere near what he was, all the parts are there for the Browns to turn the AFC North on its head.

Detroit beat Orlando last night to force a Game 6 in their playoff series. Magic forward Paolo Banchero scored 45 points, but missed 7 free throws. The final score was Pistons 116, Magic 109.

The Rams draft pick no one is talking about, and the team’s most important rookie for 2026, is Keagan Trost.

During my “RamView” podcast last night, a 49er content creator said: “49er fans view George Seifert as their Barry Switzer.”

Seifert won two Super Bowls, Barry Switzer one, and for a franchise that hasn’t won a Super Bowl since January of 1995—I imagine the days of Seifert are looking pretty good right now.

Final Thought Reed Shepphard: If Western University’s Henry Steele ever made it to the NBA…he would’ve been Reed Shepphard. I keep waiting for the camera to locate and zoom in on Annette O’Toole.

Are the Rockets—at least in this series with the Lakers—better without Kevin Durant? Yes, they are.

#35—May the San Francisco Giants rot and lie stinking in the earth…

Welcome back, my friends, to the career that never ends…Calais Campbell is going back to the Baltimore Ravens for his 19th NFL season…Campbell went to the Super Bowl as a rookie in 2008 and has not been back since.

Campbell’s career earnings? $150-million.

Is DDS a real thing? I’m talking about Duke Derangement Syndrome.

So many people just hate Duke for being Duke—of course, that’s because Duke is Duke and they’ve been on TV more times than Leave It To Beaver.

I’m curious about the blood pressure of the DDSers after learning that Prime Video and Duke struck a deal to broadcast three of the Blue Devils’ high-profile non-conference games. The opponents will be UConn, Michigan, and Gonzaga.

Is Florida’s Olivier Rioux really transferring to UC Irvine? Where in the name of Bill Mulligan are the Anteaters coming up with the money?

Golden State HC Steve Kerr should be allowed to say anything he wants…But I also believe Warrior ownership has the right to tell him what he can say while wearing team gear, representing the franchise at a podium, or in any interview regarding basketball while employed with the team.

Beyond that, he can lead any parade, anywhere, while singing “The Internationale”…

The Dude abides…
