3. The Lakers rebound from Tuesday’s loss at New Orleans to beat the Chicago Bulls 96-90 Wednesday night to even their record at 10-10.

4. USC’s Adoree Jackson was named the PAC 12 defensive player of the year.

5. Maranatha opens the 2016-’17 basketball season with a 42-17 win over Eagle Rock at the Rose City Classic.

6. Over the last two seasons Sierra Canyon has a combined record of 26-1.

7. The Chicago Cubs have signed outfielder John Jay to a one-year, $8 million contract.
