(Buena Park) – Davis Lowery has been hired as the new head coach at Buena Park. Lowery takes over for Anthony White who resigned in December.
Who’s Davis Lowery? You’ve never heard of him? That’s because he spent the last couple of years coaching in Alaska. Last season Lowery, 44, went 3-5 overall as the head coach at Kenai Central in Kenai, Alaska. In 2015 he was the defensive coordinator at Kodiak in Alaska. Lowery also coached high school football in Florida for 16 years prior to his stint in Alaska.
Lowery met with the Buena Park players on Thursday and was announced as the head coach Friday morning.

@oiler nation, people who live in glass house shouldn’t throw stones. Practice what you preach and learn to give credit where credit is due and maybe someday you can have more success as a coach. It’s not always the players’ fault when your team lose and sometimes your team win despite of you.

I have absolutely have no idea what you’re trying to say? Hopefully he wasn’t your English teacher. At the end of the day, I have my opinion and you have yours. I know what I’ve seen over the years and that’s all that matters….It’s not all about wins or loses. It’s about integrity and how you treat people. This is the main reason why he can’t become a head coach anywhere….those are facts!

@ same story BS, coach O is HC caliber , or kids wouldn’t buy into his system and play calling, believe when I tell you players at times change the play if they think coaches don’t know crap.
And you don’t know him because if you did you would know that as a person he is great friend, good with God as that seems to be the most important thing , and is all about the kids, he has gone to programs and helps kids to get to the next level , and be the way before him some of these kids had no chance.
Ask his ex players playing at the next level what they think of him ?

Lots more to this story than meets the eye. More telling is what was his record in Florida? I’m thinking maybe his wife works for an oil company and makes the big bucks thus the move to Alaska. Now a transfer to California. He obviously has lots of experience and if he was only in Alaska 2 or 3 years that’s not much time to build a program in a difficult environment. Give this guy a chance before you write him off.

Give that credit to the head coaches. It’s easy to win at a school that’s loaded with talent. Why would you give it to an O coordinator? I’m not saying he’s a bad coach but by all means if he was a great coach he would be a Head Coach. Anyways , maybe we will see… no wait a minute? He doesn’t have a teaching credential… lol. Get off his nuts…
@Same story different schools, that’s pretty good that you still manage to blog even with your blind handicap. Look at how the San Gabriel program is doing since he left. He won when he was at Maranatha, look at how they have done since he left. Buena Park couldn’t beat La Habra before he got there. Come on man! Sometimes, you just have to give credit when credit is due.
@Pac 5 Scout, have you seen how Alaska football is played? A few years ago, NFL Network did a special on Alaska High School football, they are below division 13. This new coach is getting the Mercedes Benz of athletes at BP, I don’t think he knows how to handle it having driven a truck with a snow shovel in the front for so long. BP made a terrible hire with a fine coach at the school and numerous ones in the area.

@peterson who knows if the new coach will be as welcoming as Anthony white. This can be an Alhambra situation were when Torres and Ruedaflores were in charge you guys had more access then you do now.
