1. The Dodgers hit six home runs and swept the three game series with the Reds in Cincinnati. Although they have won 9 of their last 10 the Dodgers remain one game behind in the NL West.

2. Philadelphia and Boston have agreed to swap first round picks in this year’s NBA draft. Reports say that Boston will receive at least one other first round pick in the deal.

3. It’s not sports related but those who are Animal House fans are at a loss today with the passing of Flounder (Stephen Furst) at the age of 63.

4. Vince Young’s hopes of returning to the NFL were put on hold when he was cut by the CFL’s Saskatchewan Roughriders after tearing his hamstring in training camp.

5. Evander Holyfield beat Larry Holmes in a 12 round unanimous decision for the heavyweight title on this day in 1992.

6. Former wide receiver/defensive back for the LA Avengers Kevin Ingram turns 40 today.

7. La Serna returns Alfonso Ibanez (817 yards 7 td’s) to the Lancer ground attack.

8. On this day in 1973 Pete Rose (Cincinnati) and Willie Davis (Dodgers) both get their 2000th hit.

9. The LA Galaxy are unbeaten in their last seven MLS matches and have moved into 7th place in the Western Conference.

    It was Stephen Furst, not Steven. We’ve put up with misspellings for years and now we’re called “steffin” as well way too often. 😉
