(“The TEN” is not a top ten but ten items worth being included in The TEN”)
1.) Maranatha/Oregon alum, Tyler Dorsey is a second round selection of the Atlanta Hawks in last night’s NBA Draft.
2.) Former San Gabriel quarterback/Mid Valley staffer, Saile Ramirez turns 28 today.
3.) Los Angeles Dodgers sweep four straight from the New York Mets (after being defeated by the Mets in the 2015 playoffs).
4.) “It’s about time Alhambra returns to the top of the almont. The coaching turnover hurt them but they have had stability for some time now which has helped.”—MVS commenter “Anonymous”
5.) El Monte alum/Former El Monte assistant coach, David Paredes turns 33 today.
6.) On this day in 1969 Joe Frazier TKO’s Jerry Quarry for the heavyweight boxing title. “Ali always said I would be nothing without him. But, what would he have been without me?”—Joe Frazier
7.) Worst record in baseball, 27-48, the San Francisco Giants. Best record in baseball at All Star break in 2016? The San Francisco Giants.
8.) Kansas City Chiefs give head coach Andy Reid a contract extension.
9.) Los Angeles Lakers take Lonzo Ball with the second overall pick in last night’s NBA Draft.
Previously with the second overall pick the Lakers have taken:
Brandon Ingram—Duke, 2016
D’Angelo Russell—Ohio State, 2015
Dave Myers—UCLA, 1975
Jerry West—West Virginia, 1960
10.) Dennis Miller in 2000 on New England Patriots RB J.R. REDMOND coming off “minor groin surgery”: “I’m not sure there is such a thing as minor groin surgery. Anybody who has a sharp instrument around my genitalia, I’m thinking it’s major.”
Joe Jackson Lavar Ball same dude. “You boyz owe me. I taught you everything. Without me you are nothin. You ditch me it will kill your mama and you will fail fer sure.”
Good suggestion on local blog. Check with Bonita’s rep and get the scores and report them on here. Us fans would enjoy tearing into them.
Everybody wants to know how Lonzo Ball will impact the Lakers. I’m more interested in when this guy will become his own man and ditch Lavar. Doing this is going to be harder than anything he might do on a basketball court.
#3 Sorry Joe but your Mets are pathetic. Yet all they have to complain about is Puig watching his home run for a milasecond too long. How about they worry about cutting down on some of those errors. I’ve seen Cal State teams at Millham field and throw the ball cleaner.
Happy bday Truck David! If you still check the blogs I owe you lunch.
