I'm just a caveman...This world frightens and confuses me...

Good Afternoon!

T-Minus-168 Days until “The Mid Valley Classic”

Go Big Red!

After all my teams have been bounced, after Dartmouth, I have always been a Cornell fan.

(And I’m not talking Cornell West!)

Former La Canada quarterback Rocky Moore will be playing at Citrus this fall.

“I definitely plan on playing college ball beyond junior college, somewhere,” Moore said.

Speaking of the JC’s, former Pasadena tailback Nick Escoe is scheduled to take his game to Mt. Sac and his former Bulldog teammate Charles Hendricks is strongly leaning to Pasadena City College.

I answered this question yesterday and I’ll repeat it here: I have no idea about Northview and who its future football HC will be. All my connections have moved to the south side of the 60 Freeway.

But I welcome input…

As the St. Louis Rams foolishly consider taking Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford with the number one overall pick in the draft, I’m getting tired of the argument about great-franchise-number one-draft-type quarterbacks not coming along every day.

But they do.

Matthew Stafford, Mark Sanchez, Matt Ryan, JaMarcus Russell, Brady Quinn, Vince Young, Matt Leinart, Jay Cutler, Alex Smith, Aaron Rodgers, Jason Campbell, Eli Manning, Philip Rivers, Carson Palmer, Byron Leftwich, David Carr, Joey Harrington, Michael Vick, Chad Pennington were all drafted in successive years from 2000 thru 2009 with number one picks.

They were all can’t miss quarterbacks, who only came along once in a life time, but it sure seems otherwise.

If I can help the experts… Nebraska defensive tackle Ndamakong Suh is the kind of athlete that comes along only once in a life time.

I wonder if loyal Fanview Lite reader Bonita Alum can tell me anything about former VMI star Ron Carter?

Did anyone see “Survivor” last night?

Major League Soccer begins its 15th season tonight… isn’t there an antibiotic we can take to cure this?

What was with LC HC Dan Yoder the other night? I couldn’t shut that guy up… Even though I found him to be quite cerebral, he was sort of creepy loud…

Another testimonial of sports uniting people. Loyal Fanview Lite reader Blue State rolls left…I roll right… He can’t stand Sarah Palin… I think she’s great… He wouldn’t vote my way with a gun to his back… I would wouldn’t vote commie with a gun to my back… but he agrees with me on how AWFUL the NBA is.

In between the healthcare debate and the NCAA, and the lead up to the NFL Draft…oh and spring training in baseball… Is anything more irrelevent than the NBA? It’s like a yawning festival.

Yes, the NBA is worse than an evening with an AmWay salesman.

I see retirement is working out real well for Dwight Gooden.

Which reminds me isn’t Darryl Strawberry overdue for a drug bust?

Speaking of baseball, the Alhambra Moors have started the Almont season with back to back shutouts behind Jonathan Beltran and Greg Saldate…Which is truly a case of; “If the left one don’t get you then the right one will”.

Going to my first spring football toss around this Saturday, should be interesting.

Question: Is writing about sports enough, or do we have to progress to video? I never wanted to be on television, I never wanted to be on camera, and now it feels like to survive in this business we have to do both. Can’t we just write about it and leave the interviews to pretty boys like Big George Hernandez and Big Tony Solorzano…?

I’m just a caveman…and when the camera goes on I wonder if there are tiny little demons inside that magic box making it work… and I just want to write sports…

So if you would like my seat next to Andy Villathedevil, go to Ebay and make a bid when I auction it off.

Stay thirsty my friends…
