(San Dimas) – J.P. Andrade threw for 377 yards and four touchdowns to lead Bonita to a 50-19 rout of Alta Loma Friday night at San Dimas High.

Bonita was already leading 30-13 at halftime when the Bearcats came out in the third quarter to score two touchdowns and put it away. Cade Cadum, who had a huge night, hauled in a nine-yard touchdown pass from Andrade to finish five-play 77 -yard drive to make it 37-13. On the next possession, Bonita went 61-yards on seven plays. This time Andrade did it himself on a five-yard scoring jaunt to increase the lead to 30 at 43-13 with 4:32 left in the third. That was essentially all she wrote.

Alta Loma did answer quickly on a 69-yard TD scamper by Braden Vivola on the very next series but that was all the Braves could muster the rest of the night.

Bonita hit 50 in the fourth quarter on a 71-yard scoring run by Miles Mouradian.

The Bearcats went up 14-0 in the first quarter on a 20-yard touchdown pass from Andrade to Aalias Williams and an 18-yard connection from Andrade to Cadum on their first two possessions.

After a safety made it 16-0 the Braves got off the floor with a couple touchdowns of their own. Psyer Blakely scored on a five-yard run to complete a 60-yard drive and Lucas Montoya corralled a four-yard scoring pass from Ethen Hery to cut the lead to 16-13.

Bonita then scored 27 straight points including two late TDs late in the second quarter. Andrew Garcia crossed the goal line on a two-yard run and then after Cadum intercepted Hery to give the Bearcats the ball back, he caught a 30-yard touchdown strike from Andrade for the 30-13 lead at the break.

The Bearcats then finished the job in the third quarter.

Cade Cadum ran by Alta Loma all night.

Cadum caught 11 passes for 182 yards and three touchdowns as Andrade’s favorite target and he also rushed for 34 yards. Mouradian led the ground attack with 12 carries for 170 yards and a touchdown. Williams had eight receptions for 98 yards and a score.

Hery threw for 120 yards and a touchdown for Alta Loma but was hurt by two picks.

With the victory Bonita remained unbeaten (on the field) improving to 7-0 (6-1 with forfeit loss) and 2-0 in the Palomares League. Alta Loma dropped to 5-2 and 1-1.

Obviously the way they realign these division is success on the field or lack there of. Bonita in Division 10 is a joke. Just how Covina was put in Division 11. Whoever is doing these divisions needed to take everything into consideration before they move a team up or down. Returning players should be a major factor in these decisions. Moving teams up into stronger divisions because of past success but that same team graduating there whole team does not make any sence team.

Who’s in charge of realigning these divisions? They need to do a better job.

PS: On a side note when you drop a D7 team like Bonita was last year 3 divisions lower it seems the outcome would be obvious. This years Bonita team would compete well in division 6. One division drop seems sufficient when you have a bad year. That said they look good.

The way D10 shaping up Medrano may have a first round match-up with his old team. Probably still has a few kids on Bonita he knows and he now has coach Medina that knows Bonita football better than anyone. That said I saw them on the tv stream and Bonita does not look like any D10 I’ve seen. They will be favorites big against anybody in D10.
