For the third time in a span of twenty years, the Lakers are poised to assemble a can’t-miss roster of supposed all-stars who can seemingly order their rings in advance. What could possibly go wrong? Lebron is as old as Kobe was when the Mamba’s skills fell off a cliff, and Davis’s stats don’t justify all the hype. Then we have Kawhi, who’s taking his sweet time to mull things over. The winner of his services may seem to be getting a prize, but remember, the other two teams in the running for this guy will have missed other opportunities while they waited for savior Leonard to make up his mind.
