1. The Dodgers 2-1 win over the St. Louis Cardinals Wednesday on Russell Martin’s two run single was their 1oth walk off victory of the season.

2. Toronto Blue Jays rookie Bo Bichette, the son of former Colorado Rockies All-Star Dante Bichette, set a MLB record when he became the first player in the modern ERA (since 1900) to double in nine consecutive games – and he broke the record in just his 11th game of the year.

3. With Gregg Popovich as head coach, Team USA opens camp in Las Vegas.

4. Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, the number one overall pick, went 6 for 6 for 44 yards through the air in the opening series Thursday night in his debut in a preseason game against the Chargers in Glendale, Arizona. Murray was then replaced by Brett Hundley.

5. Rosie Ruiz, the Boston Marathon course-cutter who was stripped of her victory in the 1980 race, passed away at the age of 66.

6. Washington Redskins legend Sonny Jurgensen, announced his retirement from broadcasting on Thursday, ending a 62-year career in the NFL.

7. Pete Carroll, entering his 10th season as the head coach of Seattle, has now been the coach of the Seahawks longer than he was the HC at USC – 9 years.

8. Detroit Lions wide receiver Jermaine Kearse suffered a broken leg early in the first preseason game against the New England Patriots Thursday night.
