1. Justin Verlander threw the third no hitter of his career Sunday in the Houston Astros 2-0 win over the Toronto Blue Jays.

2. El Monte has outscored its first two opponents 141-43.

3. The Seattle Seahawks acquired DE Jadeveon Clowney from the Houston Texans for a 2020 third round pick and  defensive ends Barkevious Mingo and Jacob Martin.

4. USC quarterback JT Daniels is out of the season with a torn ACL. True freshman  Kedon Slovis, who replaced Daniels Saturday night against Fresno State after the injury, is expected to start Saturday against Stanford.

5. Former Miami Dolphins center Jim Langer, (Hall of Famer), passed away at the age of 71.

6. LeSean McCoy, who was released by the Buffalo Bills, signed a one-year contract with the Kansas City Chiefs.

7. Rosemead has outscored its first two opponents 83-21.

8. The Jacksonville Jaguars signed linebacker Myles Jack to a four-year extension worth $57 million.

9. Jalen Hurts threw for 332 yards and 3 touchdowns and ran for 176 yards and 3 scores to lead Oklahoma to a 49-31 win over Houston Sunday night in the season opener.

10. La Canada held Glendale to just 86 yards of total offense in a 33-3 win over the Nitros Saturday night.
