[El Monte] – Davon Booth only had four carries but found the end zone twice in El Monte’s 46-0 victory over host Mountain View Friday night.

The Lions scored on their second play of the game on a 55-yard bust by Booth to make it 8-0 after a two point conversion.

Abel Cueva had two carries but he made it worth it with a 29-yard trip to paydirt putting El Monte up 16-0.

Former Viking JJ Reyes got in on the fun for the Lions when he took a pitch 15-yards for the score. That capped a 24-0 first quarter for the El Monte.

Cueva got his second carry of the game and took it 15-yards to the endzone. Booth would finish the first half scoring with a 19-yard run, making it 38-0 at the half.

Jose “Oso” Garcia finished the scoring off for the Lions a 14-yard run on a trap putting it at 46-0.

Booth finished with four carries for 138-yards and two scores.

The Vikings were only allowed five first downs and passed the 50-yard line one time.

Mountain View’s “hybrid” offense was led by quarterback Richie Ramirez and running back Jose Ochoa who both fought for every yard they got.

El Monte (8-0) will host Gabrielino next week and Mountain View (0-8) will travel to South El Monte

MV Alum, totally agree with you. I’ve been to 3 Mountain View games this year and they’ve had a 3 different offenses. Coach Sepulveda is a great guy but he has no clue. The kids look confused out there. They’re definitely playing hard but they’re not being put in the best position to succeed.

There is a lot more alum that follow Mountain View football than people think. I know we have never been a power house or even a playoff team in over 20 years but we have always been a tough team always gave some sort of fight. From Alonzo, Wilson to Ambruso the kids and staff got some respect but this staff they have, have the kids with no identity. They’re running idk what with no type of personal for what they are trying to do. The coaches are asking for a running clock before half. Wilson and Ambruso used that double wing t good, run the ball score points and it made them physical on both sides of the ball doing that. Now it’s just so bad, if you’re going to put that product on the field might as well not but anything out there. Only four freshmen going out. PATHETIC!!!
