(San Marino) The San Marino Titans celebrated homecoming in a magical fashion Friday evening, as they thoroughly dominated the visiting La Canada Spartans 42-7 in front of a sizable crowd at Titan Stadium.

The Titans (3-6, 2-1 in Rio Hondo League play) took control early, and never looked back. QB Connor Short opened the evening’s scoring, as he connected with WR Trond
Grizzell for a 12 yard touchdown. Short would also a run for a 1 yard TD. Also adding to the evening’s scoring total was RB Matthew Karapetyan, who scored on a 5 yard TD
blast.

The other half of the Titan scoring was provided by RB Nick Singhal, who found the end zone on three separate occasions. Singhal, who carried the ball 15 times for 114
yards, scored on runs of 8, 14, and 15 yards.

La Canada (5-3, 1-1 in the Rio Hondo League) never threatened in the contest. Their lone score was provided by quarterback Brandon Reese, who scored on a 1 yard TD blast.

The San Marino defense provided constant pressure, which prevented La Canada from ever getting on track. The San Marino “D” accounted for three turnovers…intercepting
two passes, and recovered a Spartan fumble. All three of these instances led to Titan scores.

Next week La Canada will host the Monrovia Wildcats. San Marino’s next contest will be on 11/1, when they will host the Temple City Rams. Kickoff for both of these games is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
