  2. USC’s class is ranked in the Top 15 after signing linebacker Raesjon Davis. 
  3. The Baltimore Orioles signed veteran right-hander “King” Felix Hernandez to a minor-league contract. 
  4. Furniture store owner Jim McIngvale bet $3.46 million on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to cover the spread in Super Bowl LV on Sunday. 
  5. Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant leads all players in votes for the NBA All-Star game with 2,302,705 as of Thursday. 
  6. The LA Kings are sixth in the Western Conference with a record of 3-4-2. 
  7. The Lakers are 16-6 overall, third in the Western Conference. 
  8. On this day in 2012 the New York Giants beat the New England Patriots 21-17 in Super Bowl XLVI in Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Giants quarterback Eli Manning was named MVP.
