  1. Arcadia and Crescenta Valley have both canceled their football season openers March 19 due to a player testing positive for COVID 19. Arcadia was scheduled to play Muir and Crescenta Valley was set to face Burroughs. Fred Robledo of @SGVNSports first reported the news on Friday. 
  2. Blake Griffin, who agreed to a buyout on his contract with the Detroit Pistons Friday, has signed with the Brooklyn Nets for the remainder of the season. 
  3. Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro center Jason Kelce, who had been considering retirement, agreed to return to the team for his 11th season. 
  4. Tahj Eaddy hit a three-pointer with 1.4 seconds left to lift USC to a 64-63 win over UCLA Saturday.     
  5. The Angels Shohei Ohtani was impressive against the Oakland A’s in his spring pitching debut Friday striking out five of the 10 batters he faced. 
  6. Liberty is the first team to qualify for the NCAA Men’s Tournament with a 77-64 win over Stetson on Friday. 
  7.  La Canada will open the football season at home against South Pasadena on March 19.

  9. Former Houston Rockets guard/ current TNT commentator Kenny Smith turns 56 today. 
  10. On this day 50 years ago, on March 8, 1971, Joe Frazier knocked down Muhammad Ali in the 15th round and went on to win a unanimous decision in what was deemed as “The Fight of the Century”.
