Well, the Dodgers got that three-game sweep against the Giants, but they’re not back in first place just yet. L.A. is still half a game behind the pesky San Diego Padres, due to the fact that the Padres swept their own weekend series against the fading Seattle Mariners, who’ve lost eight of their last 11 games.
The Dodgers are looking pretty good again now that they’ve won 11 of their last 12. But, those injuries and shaky performances by their middle relievers and setup men are still causes for concern.

All right, it’s the Dodgers versus the Giants in a three-game weekend series at Oracle Park. A series sweep by the Dodgers would put them back in first place, but that will probably be a tough hill to climb.
The Giants and the second-place San Diego Padres both look like serious contenders in the National League West, but the Dodgers’ current winning trend has me feeling optimistic.
