Arcadia led by 10 at the half sparked by Adrian Hernandez who had 14 first half points. But Paramount came charging back in the third quarter as Marquden Rounds knocked down a pair of threes and Johnathan Tedtaotao scored seven points in the the quarter including a three pointer.

The Pirates caught the Apaches and then eventually passed them outscoring Arcadia 23-10 in the quarter to take a 47-44 lead at the end of three.

The two teams traded punches in the fourth quarter and when Shant Chenohavarian hit two throws with 1:44 left Arcadia was up 57-54. The Apaches stopped Paramount on the next possession and at the other end of the floor Tim Kwon, after getting tangled up inside, calmly buried two free throws to make it 59-54 with 1:14 left.

Jayden Polk hit a three for Paramount to cut the lead to two but then Hernandez took over. He sank a short jumper with 33 seconds left to make it 61-57 and with just 18 ticks left he hit a pair of free throws for a six point lead.

Polk swished another trey to make it interesting but Chenohavarian hit one of two from the charity stripe with six seconds left to put it away.

The Apaches came out of the gate quickly leading 16-8 after the first quarter and 20-8 early in the second before the Pirates showed signs of life. Arcadia was still up 34-24 at the break before Paramount made its push in the third quarter.

Hernandez led the Arcadia attack with 26 points and Chenohavorian scored 17. Kwon chipped in 10 big points including some key free throws down the stretch.

For Paramount four players finished in double figures. Marques Calcote and Polk both scored 14 and Rounds and Tedtaotao each tossed in 11.

The Apaches will get a shot at the title in their own house. They will host Pasadena Poly Wednesday night for the Division 4AA championship.
