It’s kind of nice for the kids playing the occasional game on Thursday night – it’s a bit of variety, a short week of practice, and it feels like the weekend starts early.

Officials are tired of the BS from coaches and parents. I actually considered getting into it when I stopped coaching.

@ Question Mark: “Someone Who Knows” nailed it. Our kickoff time on Thursday is 3:15 p.m., by the way.
We’re seeing a fair number of Thursday games, and now one at 3:15, because of the shortage of officials. This is the first time Alhambra High has played a daytime football game in decades.
This reminds me of the years when I did stats for Bell High School in the L.A. City Section, but the main reason why we played some day games back in the 1990’s was because a few of our opponents’ fields didn’t have lights.

Most likely a shortage of officials. Not enough officials to cover all home games on Friday nights.

Meanwhile the guys who block and tackle on the team get squat and starve if they are disabled.
This is the problem with the new system for every Quinn Ewers there are 50 starters and bench players who will never make a dime off football and some get no scholarships or even food and medical bills paid.
I am sure they will like blocking for a Millionaire

Why did Alhambra schedule Temple City at 3:30 in the afternoon on a Thursday no less at Moor field? Now I have to choose between my 8 year old granddaughters 4th grade soccer match or my grandsons football game. Don’t these high schools want people to see their product I mean these guys practiced all year in order to be seen.
