  1. Monrovia wide receiver Jaylen Moore received an offer from San Jose State. 
  2. New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton announced that he’s going to step away from football for now although he is not retiring. 
  3. Auburn OLB Romello Height has transferred to USC. 
  4. USC Head Football Coach Lincoln Riley was at Bishop Amat Tuesday recruiting its student athletes.  
  5. The Lakers’ Anthony Davis returned Tuesday night after a 17-game absence in a 106-96 win over the Brooklyn Nets. 
  6. Quarterback Braxton Burmeister, who has already had stops at Oregon and Virginia Tech, transferred to San Diego State. 
  7. The Chicago Bears have hired Ryan Poles, who was the executive director of player personnel for the Kansas City Chiefs, as their next general manager. 
  8. Former Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz was the lone inductee into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens missed again. 
  9. On this day in 2020 Kobe Bryant was killed in a helicoptor crash at 41.
