  1. The Houston Astros beat the Philadelphia Phillies 3-2 Thursday night in Game 5 to take a 3-2 lead in the World Series. In Game 4 on Wednesday night the Astros used four pitchers to throw just the second no-hitter in World Series history in a 5-0 win. Christian Javier started and went six innings. 
  2. Pasadena started the season with a 15-14 loss to La Serna and ended the season with a 15-14 loss to El Modena in the first round of the Division 3 playoffs. They were the only losses of the Bulldogs’ season. 
  3. The Philadelphia Eagles improved to 8-0 with a 29-17 win over the Houston Texans on Thursday Night Football. 
  4. Alex Robles kicked a 25-yard field goal in the last seconds to give Bellflower a 30-27 win over Bell Gardens Thursday night in the first round of the CIF Division 11 playoffs. 
  5. Washington Commanders owner Daniel Snyder is considering the sale of his franchise. 
  6. The Chicago White Sox hired Kansas City Royals bench coach Pedro Grifol as their new manager.
  7. The Miami Dolphins signed newly acquired linebacker Bradley Chubb to a five-year, $110 million extension. 
  8. The Brooklyn Nets suspended guard Kyrie Irving for five games for his social media post last week about a book and movie that feature antisemitic tropes. 
  9. Former Oakland Raiders punter Ray Guy, the first punter to make the Pro Football Hall of Fame, passed away Thursday at the age of 72. 
  10.  UCLA opens the 2022-’23 College Basketball season Monday night November 7 at Pauley Pavilion against Sacramento State.
