Oliva's not giving me Jack!

T-Minus-28 Days until “The Mid Valley Classic”

Good Evening!

Three NFL games tonight, three more tomorrow…who needs baseball…

Wow, let the Flip Camera wars begin. Robledo had so much footage on his blog yesterday (good work) I’m going to start calling him Francis Ford Robledo.

The Mid: Coach, have named a starting quarterback yet?

Jude Oliva: What?

The Mid: Have you named a starting quarterback yet?

Jude Oliva: Next question.

The Mid: Have you given thought to the suggestion of Arthur Brown getting 25 carries per game?

Jude Oliva: No, but how about getting 25 to 30 touches per game?

The Mid: Okay.

What a deep, deep interview it was with San Gabriel HC Jude Oliva.

Last Add Francis Ford Robledo: Still trying to put together an intern/coupon deal to pry Stevie R. away from The Trib.

What happened to the L.A. Times… I’ve mentioned, ad nauseam, how I used to pick up a minimum of three newspapers everyday back when my body was still well ensconced below “The Mendoza Line”… But I don’t think I’ve dropped a slug/quarter in a slot for L.A. Times in over a year… I saw one in the waiting room the other night and I thought I was reading L.A. Times Lite…

…Then I thought, the whole “Lite” thing is my deal…This is the kind of thing that irritates me…

I posted the highlight video, which you need to click on… But the name we all better learn how to pronounce and get used to this coming season is; Amjed Aboul-hosn of Village Christian. The junior running back (5’11” 200lb) rushed for 857-yards and dropped a 120-yards (3Tds) on Whittier Christian in 2009.

Can I get an “Amen” from the Heralds on that one?

Last Add The Village: Aboul-hosn does have a pair of bubbas returning to clear the way for him in Steven Rios (6‘2” 275lb) and Jay Pyburn (6’3” 260lb)…

Note to Villathedevil: Never let anyone outside of the family know what you’re thinking…

It’s a shame the NBA doesn’t have its own Hall of Fame…Because the current server of of Hall Fame status…so watered down with stiffs and unknowns from around the globe…isn’t worthy of recent inductees Dennis Johnson and Gus Johnson. Let alone Stockton and the Mailman.

“Football Rush Week” is coming…August 23-27.

Stay thirsty my friends…
