  1. Longtime Schurr assistant and Schurr alum Carlos Arredondo is joining new head coach Rudy Ramirez’ staff at Bell Gardens as co-offensive coordinator. 
  2. Baseball: Schurr beat Bell Gardens 26-0 Friday. 
  3. Former Monrovia HC Chris Williams is expected to be named the new head football coach at Diamond Ranch. It is pending board approval. 
  4. Dodger manager Dave Roberts said Mookie Betts move to shortstop is “permanent for now.”
  5. The Cleveland Brown acquired wide receiver Jerry Jeudy from the Denver Broncos for a fifth-round and a sixth-round draft pick in 2024. 
  6. The Kansas City Chiefs signed defensive tackle Chris Jones to a five-year deal that includes $95 million guaranteed. 
  7. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are set to re-sign quarterback Baker Mayfield to a three-year, $100 million deal. 
  8. The New England Patriots are finalizing a deal to trade quarterback Mac Jones to the Jacksonville Jaguars a 2024 sixth-round draft pick. 
  9. Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle, Fletcher Cox, a six-time Pro Bowler, announced his retirement after 12 NFL seasons.
  10. Quarterback Russell Wilson plans to sign a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers according to sources.

    They are very good by Almont standards , unfortunately this doesn’t translate into much unless D13 or D14 which is telltale sign of SGV football

    Looking at Twitter today, I see Escarcega posted that it was the 1st day of spring football for Schurr, I gotta hand it to Schurr no one else puts in the year round “work” like Schurr while continuously pumping out mediocre almont results and 1st round playoff exits. Bravo Schurr! Might as well get in pads already.
