It’s Official: Williams to Diamond Ranch

Former Monrovia HC Chris Williams has been named the new head coach at Diamond Ranch.

(Pomona) – Former Monrovia head coach Chris Williams has been named the new head football coach at Diamond Ranch he confirmed today after he was board approved.

Williams takes over for Eric Martinez who resigned in January to take the head coaching job at Valley View High School.

Williams spent last year at Harvard-Westlake as the Assistant HC/OC. The previous five years he was the head coach at Monrovia.

The Wildcats were 35-14 overall and won three Rio Hondo League titles during Williams five-year tenure. They were 1-3 in the playoffs. Monrovia went 10-0 in the regular season in 2021 but fell to Norte Vista in the first round of the CIF Division 6 playoffs.

Diamond Ranch went 8-3 last season and lost in the first round of the CIF Division 7 playoffs to Muir.

    Panthers; you made an EXCELLENT chose. Best to DRHS staff for grabbing such a high quality coach as Coach Williams. I know the Panthers will have much success under his guiding. Let’s Go Panthers!!!

    This is an excellent hire for the Panthers. I wish coach Williams nothing but success as he continues his fine coaching career.
