  1. The Dodgers lost to the Detroit Tigers 4-3 Sunday and lost two out of three in the series. They have lost six of their last seven games heading into the All-Star break. 
  2. Dodgers’ right-hander Dustin May will miss the rest of the 2024 season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn esophagus. 
  3. Former Baltimore Ravens receiver Jacoby Jones passed away at the age of 40. Jones scored two touchdowns for the Ravens in a victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII. 
  4. New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson signed a four-year, $156.5 million extension. Brunson was eligible to sign a five-year, $269 million contract next year but instead chose the lesser deal to give the team roster and financial flexibility. 
  5. Spain beat England 2-1 Sunday to win the European Championship title.  
  6. Martin Bacon has stepped down as the head football coach at Montclair. 
  7. Former UCLA star Johnny Juzang has signed a four-year, $12 million deal to return to the Utah Jazz. 
  8. Denver Nuggets first round pick DaRon Holmes suffered a torn Achilles Friday and is expected to miss the entire 2024-25 season. 
  9. Argentina beat Columbia 1-0 Sunday night to win the Copa America title.
  10. Carlos Alcaraz beat Novak Djokovic 6-2, 6-2, 7-6 (4) Sunday to win his second Wimbledon title.

    I guess the basketball world dodged a bullet here, losing only a first-round pick to injury. Thank God it wasn’t the more important guy, future superstar Bronny James.
