July 20, 2024 – 7: LS cares much less for power rating , and cares more for getting hard working kids the football playing experience each of them deserve Dude! If you had a son who was second string , yet worked every day just as hard as the starters, would you expect your son to get in the game they are leading by forty points or so. Or get him in late in the game ahead by 25?

Billy The Fan? Question to help us all understand the ‘possible’ difference of LS now and LM then! How many LM players “earned D1 or D2 football scholarships during those important years? I will research if necessary, but I suggest five or six per year not including community college interests. Now LS! How many LS players are ‘earning’ D1 or D2 football scholarships lately? Even NAIA , which is no doubt earning a special honor? I suggest two or three over the last four years. NOW, I am not claiming pure correctness on this, but I do think I am ?? 90% very close to correct. Something to consider for all of you who post commentary as if you know more than La Serna’s well put together staff. If even one of you can support your ideas ‘anti LS processes’, please help me learn the truth. If you people who think you know who they must schedule, for whatever reasons you have, please teach me with your acumen

and moreover? you mean 30 or more second and third string kids /players who probably start at Whittier , ER, SF and other places do not deserve to play a little after working as hard consistently as the best kids? If the bench players did not work as hard they usually will be cut off team at respectable /good clubs right? LS work ethic must be strong or they never have chance at state championship. Disagree? If yes , I think you been observing wrong schools. You get back what you put in’ is good philosophy

Hey you ‘self appointed genius’s;! I suggest ,(only my interpretation of all your BS concerning LS. ) LS staff knows so much more than all of you LS critics. Has even one of this group ever been a head coach above little league football. I do respect those leagues very much because both sons played long time with decent , or quality coaching. LS just won the damn state championship and you self appointed geniuses know much more huh? Why should they play greater teams? Tell us please. So great chance for injuries to more very good players/? No I am not suggesting play only easy clubs, but Mater Dei because Muschetti did? love Muschetti and wish he was there earlier so players had better chance to go far in playoffs. One said ‘game against MD will most likely move them up a division, even if they lose. Even if lose/ ? Definitely 99% they lose, but only my claim. Wow many of you are very funny. LOT MORE RESPECT? LS staff cares zero if you know it alls respect them, because LS just wins; Simple common sense/ logic

Nothing against them playing Schurr but after doing what they did a MD game would be cool. They do good in their scheduling, they won state. Just would have been cool for their kids to experience that level.

How dare La Serna not schedule Mater Dei!

Why is La Serna still scheduling teams that are likely to get pummeled? Those games do nothing to improve the team’s chances against the better clubs. The only plausible reason for keeping the pushovers in the schedule is what I’ve said: it makes the power rating people think the hill program is struggling a bit against lousy opponents, so it’s best to seed them in a weaker playoff conference. Speaking of pushover opponents, these include the Lancers’ entire league foes.

    @ Moreover,

Playing your 2nd, 3rd, and 4th stringers is the absolutely right thing to do when you’re pummeling a team. Anything else would be classless. Keep your starters in and your worthy backups who work hard don’t get a chance. Keep your starters in and your opponent keeps getting injured. This is, however, one of the reasons La Serna should be in another league.

Let’s not forget La Serna’s tactic of playing second and third string guys in games that would otherwise be huge blowouts. This ploy make everyone feels warm and fuzzy about the Lancers not “rubbing it in”, but accomplishes the more important goal of keeping that power rating depressed (for easier playoff placement).

No I am not. They were offered it. When La Mirada was in La Serna’s shoes they were taking on MD, OLu, Servite. Getting beat but earning a lot more respect. They would have got a nice bag of change too.

A game against MD would probably kick them up a division even with the loss. Beating Schurr keeps them D5 or D6. The game against CL a 18 rated team while LS is a 54 rated team keeps them down with a good shot at a title in D5 or 6. However everyone of these teams has a lower 2023 Cal Preps rating than La Sernas 52. Not really a schedule to brag about. They will be favored in every game.

I like La Serna but why didn’t they take the Mater Dei game instead they put Schurr on.
