  1. Florida beat Houston 65-63 Monday night to win the NCAA Basketball championship.  
  2. For Florida it was its third NCAA title in basketball having also won in 2006 and 2007. 
  3. The Denver Nuggets fired head coach Michael Malone with three games left in the regular season. The Nuggets, who won the NBA championship two years ago under Malone, are currently 47-32 and in fourth place in the Western Conference. General Manager Calvin Booth was also let go. 
  4. Former major league players Octavio Dotel and Tony Blanco were among more than 60 people that died after the roof collapsed in a nightclub in the Dominican Republic early Tuesday morning. Dotel pitched for 13 different teams in a 15-year career that began with the New York Mets in 1999. He helped the St. Louis Cardinals win a World Series in 2011. 
  5. The Toronto Blue Jays signed Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to a 14-year, $500 million deal. 
  6. The Dodgers lost to the Washington Nationals 8-2 Tuesday night to fall to 9-4 on the year. The Dodgers have lost four out of their last five and are in third place in the National League West. 
  7. Texas freshman Tre Johnson announced he will declare for the NBA draft. Johnson, who is 6-foot-6 and is a prototype for what the NBA looks for at the wing position, is projected to be a top-5 pick. 
  8. Michigan State freshman Jase Richardson, a projected lottery pick, will declare for the NBA draft. 
  9. Baseball: Monrovia is 15-3 overall and tied for first place with La Canada in the Rio Hondo League at 4-1. 
  10. South El Monte is in first place in the Misson Valley League at 4-0. The Eagles are 12-5 overall.
