Among the greatest Lakers ever? Or just a mercenary?
The question tied to today’s poll is about LeBron James. Is his time done in Los Angeles or does he finish out his legendary career in purple and gold?
Does he rank among the greatest Lakers ever? Or was he only a mercenary who saw the town as an opportunity to improve his brand?
Is he overrated as a player? Is he underrated?
What are your thoughts because it seems he is either loved or hated…
Lebron James is the scoring king, and he has four (or is it five?) NBA championship rings. However, it’s likely time to trade him so the Lakers can complete their rebuilding process.
But perhaps the Lakers’ ownership, with Mark Walter and his L.A. Dodger deep pockets taking over majority control, could complete the team’s rebuilding through smart drafts and free agency. However, one advantage to trading Lebron would be to clear some salary-cap space, if that’s still a thing.
I have to admit that I don’t follow the NBA as closely as I do football and major league baseball; maybe someone can fill us in on the Lakers’ salary-cap situation.
A trained seal could throw a ball through a hoop? With what, its flippers? Human project? Imagine, diminishing the talents of the NBA’s all-time leading scorer because his politics make you feel sad and violating your safe space. Chamberlain was too focused on (forcibly, by some accounts) spending his time on hooking up, to really do anything meaningful for human society. Did Chamberlain ever open a set of schools for underprivileged students? Was Chamberlain a dedicated family man? C’mon. Don’t forget that Chamberlain campaigned for Richard Nixon (he was a crook) in 1968, because sPorTs aNd PolITicS DoN’t MiX! Snowflakes.
Sick and tired of everyone agonizing over this guy staying or going. James actually said that he’s important not just to basketball, but to our culture! Imagine that: he throws a ball throught a hoop, something you could train a seal to do, but gee, what a cultural treasure! Wilt Chamberlain was the greatest Laker ever, along with being the greatest Basketball player ever, but the man never came on like he was indispensable to the human project. Trade James and his tag along son and rebuild already.
