1. The Dodgers beat the San Diego Padres 5-4 Sunday to sweep the three-game series. They are now two games ahead of the Padres in the NL West.

2. The Rams beat the Chargers 23-22 Saturday in a preseason game. 

3. The Philadelphia Eagles acquired receiver John Metchie III and a 6th round draft pick from the Houston Texans for tight end Harrison Bryant and a 5th round pick.

4. The Milwaukee Brewers 14-game winning streak was snapped Sunday in a 3-2, 10 inning loss to the Cincinnati Reds.

5. Jacksonville Jaguars rookie WR/CB Travis Hunter is out with an upper body injury. 

6. The Temple City-Whittier game Thursday night will be played at San Marino High School. The first game at Temple City in the renovated stadium will be September 12 against Bosco Tech.

7. #1 Texas vs. #3 Ohio State, Saturday August 30 at 9:00 AM on Fox. 

8. Jake Moody kicked a 59-yard field goal to lift the San Francisco 49ers to a 22-19 win over the Las Vegas Raiders Saturday in a preseason game. 

9. Rams quarterback Stetson Bennett completed 28 of 40 for 324 yards and three touchdowns and an interception in the win over the Chargers. Bennett threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to Tru Edwards with five seconds left to give the Rams the win.

10. UCLA opens the season Saturday August 30 at the Rose Bowl against Utah. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:00 PM.
